Reading wallets with Trader Scan

Axiom Team · August 1, 2026 · 7 min read

Holder counts are close to useless. What matters is what each wallet did and how long it stayed. Trader Scan sits in the Axiom orderbook and gives you exactly that: total bought, total sold, current balance, realized PnL and holding duration, per wallet, for any token.

Why the holder count misleads

Two tokens can show the same holder count and be opposite markets. One thousand holders whose average hold is two minutes is a queue of exits. Two hundred holders who have not sold in a day is a floor.

The count cannot distinguish them because it measures presence, not behaviour. Trader Scan measures behaviour, which is the only version of the question worth asking before you size a position.

It lives in the orderbook, so there is nothing to enable. Open a token and the wallet rows are there.

Why the holder count misleads

Accumulators

An accumulator's row shows meaningful buys, little or no sells, a substantial current balance and a holding duration measured in hours or days rather than minutes.

When several of the largest rows look like that, dips get absorbed and the supply sitting above the market is thinner than the chart implies. That is a book that can take size.

Accumulators are also the wallets worth adding to your tracker. If a wallet accumulates well repeatedly, watching its buys in real time next to Pulse gives you an early read on the next one.

Distributors

A distributor holds size and sells into strength. The row shows large buys, large sells, a balance that is falling, and realized PnL that is already positive.

Their presence caps rallies, because every push is somebody's planned exit. That does not make the token untradeable; it makes it a smaller, faster trade with tighter targets.

The important detail is direction of travel. A distributor who has sold 30% of their position behaves differently from one who has sold 90% and has almost nothing left to press with.

A distributor who has sold 30% of their position is a different market from one who has almost nothing left to press with.

Flippers

Flippers cycle in and out within minutes, with small realized PnL on both sides and no lasting balance. A book dominated by flippers has no floor: the same speed that lifted it takes it back.

Flipper-heavy tokens are not automatically bad trades, but they are momentum trades with a short shelf life. Size and time horizon both need to shrink.

The tell is in the aggregate. If almost every row shows a holding duration under a few minutes, you are not early to a trend, you are inside a rotation.

Holding duration is the conviction signal

Of the five columns, holding duration is the one that resists manipulation. Buy size can be theatre. Wallet count can be manufactured. Time held cannot be faked, because it has to actually elapse.

A wallet that held through a 40% drawdown is telling you something no single transaction can. It has already demonstrated what it does when the position goes against it.

Read duration together with realized PnL. A wallet with long duration and no realized PnL has not taken profit yet, which means its intent is still ahead of you rather than behind you.

  • Total bought and total sold: the shape of the position
  • Current balance: what is still at risk
  • Realized PnL: what has already been taken off
  • Holding duration: intent, and the hardest column to fake

Combining the reads

Trader Scan tells you who is in. The Bundle Checker tells you whether they arrived together in coordinated blocks. Pulse filters tell you how supply was distributed at launch through dev holding %, snipers % and insiders %.

Used together, a token page stops being a chart with a story attached and becomes a description of a specific market: how it launched, who took the supply, and what they have done with it since.

That is usually enough to answer the only question that matters before you click. Not whether it can go up, but whether you can get out if it does not.
